2020.10.20 16:09 Candid-Ad-1812 Micromanaging is my biggest pet peeve.

I feel like I spend more time answering the same 15 questions to 30 different people who “need to know” where I’m at with my work.
I get my work done well before my due date. I have proven this time and time again the 2 years I’ve been employed. Waiting until the last minute gives me serious anxiety. Tasks come due for me with a three week or so notice. I will have several different people ask me what my “plan of action” for completing my work is as soon as it comes due! It drives me up the wall and is a serious waste of my time. The day it shows as upcoming due date, I start to fit it into my schedule and I feel like I’m being treated like a child who can’t figure out how to do this on my own.
If it were a few days until the due date, I could possibly see this. It’s just the fact that it’s as soon as it comes to my upcoming task list, I’m hounded by several different people. There are people employed at my agency whose entire job is checking case management task lists. None of us have had issues with completing our work, yet we are all harassed all the time. It’s getting very old. As hard as my job can be, I love it, but I cannot deal with extreme micromanagement. I’m busy enough without having to explain the same things over and over to several different people well before things are even due.
I’ve been lazily pursuing other jobs. Everywhere I’ve seen that’s currently hiring is a pay cut. I don’t even make a lot of money currently, so I just feel like I’m totally stuck in this micromanagement hell right now.

Comment of the Day
The_Draigg talks about the walker machine switch.
It’s rare in mech shows when both the main character and the rival end up hijacking each other’s mechs to fight with. Although of course reality ensues when the both of them have a hard time actually piloting different Walker Machines, between the Government having busted controls and the Xabungle’s weapon targeting systems being incredibly misaligned. It’s no wonder Jiron and Timp just decide to hop out and beat the shit out of each other with pipes instead.

Daily Trivia:
Bandai chose to make the art on the boxes for the Xabungle model kit line, painted by Kenichi Ishibashi, resemble that found in Tamiya’s 1/35 Military Miniatures line to appeal to the military model kit enthusiast, which was an unusual move at the time, and went out of their way to draw the mechs from unconventional perspectives.

2020.10.20 15:52 PhysicalKale8_throw I love my boyfriend and he’s I think I’m going to break up with him because of his job choices. He is always stuck and having a crisis with work and I can’t take it anymore.

So backstory: my boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years. When he first starting dating his job was making sick from stress, so he took a retails sales job. Three years ago he worked retail, had a shit schedule, and we were never able to plan anything because he never had weekends off. He couldn’t even see his family regularly on the weekends. It was super annoying. But the situation stayed the same. He didn’t make any changes to his job.
I got into med school a few hours away and he was able to change stores and transfer to the store near me. His work situation became bad, he started feeling sick before going to work so he applied to a new job taking the first one offered. At this point he tells me he’s really done with sales. Wants to go back to school because he knows that he needs a technical skill and figured out what he wanted to do finally. But he won’t go back to school because we are moving (once every 2 years—stated this 6 months before moving 2 hours away to new city).
His then got his first corporate work from home job. It’s a sales job. Tries that for a year, had a great schedule, but he found it too stressful got sick from stress and quit it. Told me that he wasn’t going to do sales anymore/less sales job. Says he can’t do school now because the program he wants to do is not within 2 hours of us, and we are just going to move again in a year and half now. So he says he will bide his time until we move again because that will be permanent.
He just took a new job when I was away for a few weeks. It’s back in a retail environment, and 50% sales. Now he’s also going to have some cleaning duties of the facility ( he even told me he might have to clean the toilet). I’m shocked because his plan was to get out of sales and to go back to a retail sales environment even as a manager, seems like a serious downgrade. He has two bachelors degrees. So I’m just confused at why he’s okay with this situation. (He has had one bachelors degree ever since I met him. Got the second one 2 years into our relationship).
I got really upset because I am fed up with the situation thinking it’s going to turn out the same. I don’t understand why he keeps taking sales jobs if they make him miserable. He took the first interview/job offer he was offered.
Ever since I’ve been with him all he does is complain about his job. He keeps putting himself in the same situation/type of job. He won’t find a new job until he’s sick with stress and then takes whatever is offered.
At this point, I don’t think he’s actually serious about changing his life or career. I feel like he lacks the ability to change/take a hard step. He’s always taking himself out of school too, not wanting to get into debt (which I understand) but why choose the same job situation over and over if you want to do something different.
I told him I didn’t want to hear him complain about his job all the time anymore and I didn’t believe in his ability to change his situation to become happier with his job environment. I told him I waited 5 years for him to get his shit together but still hasn’t really changed his situation. He says that it’s ridiculous because he hasn’t had the ability to go back to school because of us moving all the time. I told him I understand that, but I don’t believe he will follow through because he keeps putting himself in the same situation with work every time.
I love this man. He’s a great person and friend. He’s responsible and financially stable. But I can’t handle his constantly sour attitude from hating his job all the time/him having a crisis if he should go back to school every 6 months. I’m tired of him not following through with plans and it’s seriously a turn off that he lacks the agency to change his fate and just accepts his situation. I fear that he will never go back to school and will be stuck unhappy like this for the rest of his life. I don’t want to be with someone who hates their job like that/gets trapped. This is the reason I won’t agree to marry him (if he showed me he has the ability that would be different). He’s also 4 years older than me and he is still like this! It’s very frustrating. But I love him. What should I do?
Sorry for the novel

2020.10.20 14:46 rusticgorilla Lost in the Sauce: Team Trump attempts to smear Biden using possible Russian disinformation

Welcome to Lost in the Sauce, keeping you caught up on political and legal news that often gets buried in distractions and theater… or a global health crisis.
Housekeeping:

October surprise

Trump and allies are pushing an unverified and highly suspicious narrative to smear Joe Biden by trying to tie him to his son Hunter Biden’s work in Ukraine. Last week, the New York Post published emails and photos allegedly from a laptop belonging to Hunter - but without any proof of provenance.

What we know:

The NYP story: Hunter Biden (who lives in Los Angeles) dropped off multiple laptops at a computer repair shop in Delaware in April 2019 and disappeared. The invoice he allegedly signed was for the low price of $85. The repair shop owner recovers and reads Hunter’s private emails, a few of which mention a possible meeting with his dad, and is so alarmed that he contacts the FBI in November 2019. Before handing the laptops over, though, the repair shop owner copies the contents. Once he realizes the FBI is not doing anything with them, he contacts Giuliani’s lawyer (sometime in early 2020) and hands over the contents of the drives. Giuliani and/or his lawyer then sits on the material for months, finally deciding to release them (with some prompting of Steve Bannon) three weeks before the election.
  • The NYP story was “mostly” written by longtime-NYP reporter Bruce Golding, but he “did not allow his byline to be used because he had concerns over the article’s credibility.” Instead, the lead reporter credited is Emma-Jo Morris, a former producer of Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News (owned by Rupert Murdoch, just like the NYP). Between Wednesday and Sunday, the NYP published more than 50 separate stories and columns tagged “Hunter Biden.”
What the docs published by NYP said: An email dated April 17, 2015, suggests Hunter Biden arranged for a top executive at a Ukrainian energy firm to meet with the then-vice president when he was in charge of U.S. policy toward Ukraine. There is no proof the email is authentic, nor is there proof that such a meeting occurred or that “Hunter” even replied to it.
What experts say: WaPo journalist David Ignatius reports that an Eastern European expert in digital forensics who has examined some of the Ukrainian documents leaked to the New York Post said he “found anomalies — such as American-style capitalization of the names of ministries — that suggest fakery.” Thomas Rid, author of “Active Measures,” told WaPo: “Usually when emails are leaked, what investigators look for is the actual email file, and we don’t have that here.” When an email is presented without the metadata, he said, “then you become suspicious.”
Russian op: U.S. intelligence agencies warned the White House last year that Giuliani was the target of an influence operation by Russian intelligence. The intelligence raised concerns that Giuliani was being used to feed Russian misinformation to the president, leading national security adviser Robert O’Brien to caution Trump in a private conversation that any information Giuliani brought back from Ukraine should be considered contaminated by Russia. Trump had “shrugged his shoulders” at O’Brien’s warning, the former official said, and dismissed concern about his lawyer’s activities by saying, “That’s Rudy.”
  • Former National Security Adviser John Bolton repeatedly told his staff to stay out of discussions with Giuliani due to warnings he received from intelligence officials about Trump’s lawyer spreading foreign disinformation. As early as Spring 2019 Giuliani was seen as a tool of Russian intelligence.
  • A reminder that when Giuliani came to Kyiv in December he not only met Andriy Derkach, identified and sanctioned by the US as a Russian agent, he also flew out of Ukraine on a private jet connected to some shady oligarchs. When asked about meeting with Derkach, a Russian agent, Giuliani said: “The chance that Derkach is a Russian spy is no better than 50/50.” Apparently that’s a low enough risk for Rudy…
Trump knew: A source told the Daily Beast that Trump “knew [in recent weeks] that Rudy had something big coming on the Biden family...I remember hearing…something about files, and corruption, and something about sex and drugs…It was evident that the president was interested and wanted it done before the election.” Giuliani further confirmed that Trump knew about the planned leak/smear and approved of it: “Sure, sure. The president knows all about this,” Giuliani said, adding that he had briefed Trump on the “general” parameters of the files.
Chinese connection: Social media accounts connected to billionaire Chinese dissident Guo Wengui began posting about the laptop story weeks before the NYP story was published. You may recall that when Steve Bannon was arrested for fraud, he was aboard Guo’s yacht. Just days before the NYP published the alleged laptop emails, photos of Rudy Giuliani and Guo showed up on Twitter. If taken the same day as posted, that would mean he was with Guo when he reportedly gave NYP the alleged Biden materials.

Republican corruption

Oracle founder Larry Ellison donated $250,000 to a political action committee supporting Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) the same day his company was declared the first official U.S. partner for TikTok. Graham was reportedly pivotal in arranging the deal, saying he personally called Trump to advocate for the sale of TikTok to a U.S. business in lieu of a total ban. “If TikTok is saved, you can thank me,” he said.
U.S. Rep. Roger Williams, a Central Texas Republican and member of the House Financial Services Committee, used his powerful post in Congress to try to help a top donor in his dealings with a publicly traded bank, court records show. Williams allegedly used&utm_source=t.co&utm_medium=referral) his position on the powerful House committee to try to force the CEO of UMB Bank into meeting with oil field investor Gary Martin of Marble Falls.
Attorney Kyle Hirsch testified under oath that Williams’ intervention exerted inappropriate pressure on UMB and that unless the CEO agreed to meet with his donor there could be problems for the bank in Congress. “The Congressman indicated that his role on the Financial Services Committee included legislation that was coming down the pike and that he was urging the bank to meet with his constituent or there would be adverse consequences as it relates to his role on the Financial Services Committee,” Hirsch said, according to his deposition in the case.
For at least seven years, GOP Rep. Jim Hagedorn (MN-1) appears to have enjoyed rent-free use of a campaign office supplied by a political donor. “It sounds like something that could potentially be a fairly serious violation of campaign finance law and the ethics rules,” said Bryson Morgan, a former investigative counsel at the Office of Congressional Ethics.
Sen. Lindsey Graham used an on-camera interview after the Supreme Court confirmation hearings Wednesday to solicit contributions for his reelection campaign, a move that a congressional legal expert said is a clear violation of Senate ethics rules. Senate ethics rules prohibit members from soliciting campaign contributions in any federal building.
“I don’t know how much it affected fundraising today, but if you want to help me close the gap — LindseyGraham.com — a little bit goes a long way,” said Graham, R-S.C, who is locked in a highly competitive race against well-funded Democratic challenger Jaime Harrison.
Sen. Martha McSally (R-AZ) has used her office’s taxpayer-funded resources to send out a robocall touting a key campaign issue—her work on COVID-19 policy—to Arizonans. Normally, mass official communication with constituents so close to an election would be prohibited. But a waiver approved by the Senate Rules Committee in March has made it permissible—if, and only if, the communication is for the purposes of “providing updated information about the pandemic, and providing information about the federal government's response.”
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) is spending $819,000 of taxpayer money on a Fox News ad promoting her state as a “place to safely explore” despite the pandemic. South Dakota currently has the highest positivity rate in the nation (36%) and the second-highest new cases per day (753 per million people), right behind North Dakota. Noem has also spent $130,000 to build a studio in the basement of the Capitol, which she has used frequently for Fox News appearances.

Court cases

The DC Circuit Court of Appeals will rehear the House’s case to enforce a subpoena for former White House counsel Donald McGahn. A three-judge panel earlier ruled 2-1 that the House Judiciary Committee could not enforce the subpoena absent a law explicitly giving it the authority to do so. The majority in the previous panel was made up of now-retired Judge Thomas Griffith, a W. Bush appointee (who made way for McConnell protege Justin Walker on the court), and Judge Karen Henderson, a H.W. Bush appointee. Judge Judith Rogers, a Clinton appointee, dissented.
  • NOTE: The D.C. Circuit has essentially allowed the White House to run out the clock. The subpoena to McGahn was first issued in April 2019. In taking up the case, the full court asked the parties to address “whether the case would become moot when the Committee’s subpoena expires upon the conclusion of the 116th Congress.” Oral arguments are not scheduled until February 2021.
  • If you’re confused about why the D.C. Circuit is hearing the McGahn case again, here is the reason: The first time the court ruled on the McGahn subpoena was in August, when the full bench determined the House has standing to sue the executive branch to enforce subpoenas. This time, the issue is “cause of action,” meaning whether House Democrats have legal ground to take the subpoena issue to court.
The Supreme Court refused to hear a case brought by Democratic lawmakers against President Trump over his private businesses accepting payments from foreign governments. In declining to revive the case, the justices let stand a decision by a three-judge panel of the D.C. Circuit to dismiss the lawsuit - a win for Trump. The panel was made up of Judge Thomas Griffith (W. Bush appointee), Karen Henderson (H.W. Bush appointee), and David Tatel (Clinton appointee). All three unanimously ruled that the individual members did not have legal standing to take the president to court.
“Our conclusion is straightforward because the Members — 29 Senators and 186 Members of the House of Representatives — do not constitute a majority of either body and are, therefore, powerless to approve or deny the President’s acceptance of foreign emoluments,” the [earlier three-judge panel] ruled.
  • Note, there are still two other pending cases before the Court: Trump v. CREW and Trump v. Maryland & D.C.
Trump filed an emergency request with the Supreme Court to block the release of his tax returns. Last week, a federal appeals court ruled Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance can enforce a subpoena for Mr. Trump's business records and tax returns.
SCOTUS cases coming up: On Nov. 30, SCOTUS will hear arguments to determine whether the Trump administration can exclude unauthorized immigrants from the 2020 census count. Next year, SCOTUS will take up two challenges to Trump’s immigration policies: his diversion of military funds to pay for construction of the southern border wall, and a policy that has required tens of thousands of asylum seekers to remain in Mexico while their claims are processed.
  • Three Muslim men who said they were placed for years on a “no-fly” list because they refused to become FBI informants told the Supreme Court on Tuesday that they should be able to sue the agents for targeting them because of their religion.
A federal judge Sunday struck down a Trump administration rule that could have stripped food stamps from nearly 700,000 people. Chief Judge Beryl Howell (Obama appointee) of the D.C. District Court wrote: "The final rule at issue in this litigation radically and abruptly alters decades of regulatory practice, leaving states scrambling and exponentially increasing food insecurity for tens of thousands of Americans.”

Miscellaneous

Russia: The United States on Monday unsealed criminal charges against six Russian intelligence officers in connection with some of the world’s most damaging cyberattacks, including disruption of Ukraine’s power grid and the release of a mock ransomware virus that infected computers globally and caused billions of dollars in damage.
DOJ: Attorney General Bill Barr’s “unmasking” probe has quietly ended with no prosecutions or findings of wrongdoing. The investigation, conducted by U.S. Attorney John Bash, was focused on whether Obama-era officials improperly requested the identities of individuals whose names were redacted in intelligence documents.
DOJ: Phillip Halpern, a 36-year veteran of the Justice Department, accused AG Barr of abusing his power to sway the election for President Trump and said he was quitting. He said he would have quit earlier but stayed on because he worried that the department under Mr. Barr would have interfered in his prosecution of former Representative Duncan D. Hunter, Republican of California, who pleaded guilty in December to conspiracy to steal campaign funds.
Trump campaign: A newly published trove of Cambridge Analytica emails and other documents from the 2016 election demonstrate how the data firm operated as a tool for a billionaire family to unlawfully influence U.S. politics and help elect President Trump. It includes a never-before-published 27-page post-election report from February 2017 shows that Cambridge Analytica claimed credit for creating, producing, and distributing ads for the Trump campaign, which included “5,000+ ad campaigns” on behalf of Trump that generated “1.5 billion impressions.”
Trump campaign: A Chinese national whose Instagram page features pictures of him wearing a VIP pass at a 2018 rally for President Donald Trump, is now on U.S. soil after being charged with conspiring to distribute cocaine and laundering the illicit funds, according to court documents filed earlier this week.
Trump campaign: For a fourth time, pro-Trump super PAC America First Action used stock footage from Russia and Belarus in a major ad buy that’s airing in three swing states.
HHS: The health department’s top lawyer is warning in an internal memo that President Donald Trump's plan to give seniors $200 discount cards to buy prescription drugs could violate election law. The lawyer’s objection, coupled with his advice to seek approval from the Department of Justice, is a significant blow to Trump’s hope to promote the hastily devised plan before Election Day.
Trump money: The State Department says it has about 450 pages of records showing government spending at President Trump’s properties. But this week, it signaled that it plans to release only two of those pages before the November election. The State Department pays for hotel rooms and other expenses when foreign leaders visit Trump properties, and when federal employees, such as Secret Service agents, follow Trump and his family to the president’s overseas clubs.
Trump: Trump was receiving one of his first codeword classified briefings on Afghanistan, at his Bedminster club, when he suddenly got bored and ordered milkshakes. The incident became legendary inside the CIA, where like at other agencies, morale has slumped.
Voting: A deadlocked Supreme Court on Monday let stand a lower-court ruling that requires Pennsylvania election officials to count absentee ballots received within three days after Election Day, Nov. 3, even if they are not postmarked. Four justices – Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh – indicated that they would have granted the Republicans’ request.
  • While a temporary win for voting rights, the 4-4 decision is worrying because once Amy Coney Barrett is confirmed, there will likely be five votes in favor of a radical, anti-democratic theory that would stop state Supreme Courts from enforcing state election laws to protect the right to vote. This Twitter thread goes into more detail.
Immigration: A total of 172 immigrants were arrested across six sanctuary cities within a six-day span, according to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The arrests were made in Baltimore, Denver, New York, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Washington, DC, between October 3-9.

2020.10.20 14:32 Jeff-Netwrix Protecting PII

Protecting PII
A wide range of privacy regulations govern how organizations collect, store and use personally identifiable information (PII). In general, companies need to ensure data confidentiality, avoid data breaches and leaks, and make sure data is not destroyed or altered in unauthorized ways.
The consequences of lost or leaked PII data are significant. Of course, the individuals involved can be harmed from resulting identity theft and associated costs. But organizations can lose in multiple ways as well: Not only can the costs of investigating the incident and repairing the damage be extensive, the company can be slapped with steep fines for non-compliance with a relevant privacy law, and customers can lose trust and leave forever.
This article explains what PII protection is and how to protect PII effectively with a data-centric security strategy.

What is PII?

PII is any type of information that can identify an individual. According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), all of the following kinds of data could be considered PII:
· Name: An individual’s full name, maiden name, alias, or mother’s maiden name
· ID number: Social Security, passport, driver’s license, tax ID or credit card number
· Address: Email or physical mailing address
· Characteristics: Photographs, fingerprints, signature or handwriting, and other biometric data such as voice signature or facial geometry
· Linkable data: Other indirect data that links a person to one of the above categories, like employment information, medical history, date of birth or financial information

Source: Braze
It’s also important to distinguish between sensitive and non-sensitive PII, so you can create different storage and sharing plans for each type:
· Sensitive PII: Data that is not easily found from public sources, such as a person’s SSN, medical information and driver’s license number
· Non-sensitive PII: Information that is easily accessible in open public outlets like phone books and internet resources, such as a person’s zip code or date of birth.
While there are currently no federal PII protection laws in the United States, U.S. organizations are required to follow a host of other privacy laws that govern specific types of PII, including:
· Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA): Covers customer information stored by financial institutions
· Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA): Specifies standards for protecting medical records and personal health information
· Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA): Governs websites and online services geared toward children under 13 to protect their personal information
· Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA): Protects educational information and related records
· Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA): Governs consumer information held by credit reporting agencies
· Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX): Protects individuals from accounting errors and fraudulent business enterprises
· California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): Governs the collection, sale and disclosure of the personal information of California residents
· Massachusetts data privacy law: Protects Massachusetts residents against identity theft and fraud
· The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): Protects the privacy of the personal data of EU citizens and impacts many companies around the globe
· Other data privacy laws, which we covered in an article about the S. data privacy approach
These regulations can be complex, so some organizations engage legal professionals to help them navigate compliance. However, it is often the responsibility of IT staff to ensure that protection practices are in place within company systems and processes.

PII protection best practices

Now that you know what PII is, let’s look at best practices for protecting it. Consider these best practices for protecting PII:
1. Discover and classify your PII. Make sure you classify your personal data into sensitive and non-sensitive categories. Where does this sensitive information currently live? Is any sensitive PII currently being stored in an insecure manner? Make sure you know exactly what data you have and where it is stored so you can implement the right security strategies for different types of data.
2. Perform risk assessments. A risk assessment helps you identify and prioritize your vulnerabilities, so you can correct the most important issues first. To perform a risk assessment, ask these key questions: Where are the gaps in your current security strategy? How do your current risks impact the sensitive data you have? What would the impact be if certain files were leaked or lost?
3. Create the right access and privilege model. Implement the least-privilege model, so that employees can access only the data they need to perform their work. A role-based access model enables you to assign certain access levels to sensitive data to protect against improper data loss or alteration.

Source: Citrix
4. Use encryption. Encrypting PII helps keep it safe even if it falls into the wrong hands.
5. Don’t store PII you don’t need. Create a policy for destroying records securely when they are no longer needed. This should be a controlled process to avoid the accidental deletion of important data or leaving traces of sensitive data in unsecured locations.
6. Document your policies and procedures for handling sensitive data. Your policy should include the types of data you store, which PII is sensitive versus non-sensitive, and how different types of data must be stored and protected. Be sure to educate your users about those policies and procedures.

Conclusion

Organizations everywhere need to know what PII is and how its loss or leakage could impact their business. The data protection techniques listed above will help you identify and protect your PII. Consider investing in data security software that will help you efficiently and effectively protect your PII and monitor for security threats.

Hello there
The amount of websites available in the current era is unimaginable. We really do not know which is the best among the websites
It may not be that we know nothing, but we know a lot
What is new backpage?
Backpage was a classified advertising website that had become the largest marketplace for buying and selling sex by the time that federal law enforcement agencies seized it in April 2018. ... As part of his plea agreement Ferrer agreed to shut down the site and give its data to law enforcement.
As for me - I like these super hookup dating websites:

2020.10.20 13:02 kravisni Fell back on some rent in 2020 summer, now possibly facing eviction

Hi fellow tenants, I need your wisdom.
A summary: I have been a tenant in a 4 room south london flat since 2018 and unemployment found me during corona times so I fell back on rent (I basically owe the landlord 4 grand at this point) None of the other tenants had an issue and me being the principal tenant I always sent in the rent with my bit missing, I also notified the agency of this fact. Late August (our tenancy period starts and ends on 20 Sep) the agency gave us a call asking if we want to renew and I was surprised the arrears weren't an issue and said yes (I also added I will look to cover my debt in the following year).
A week or so after that I got a call from the agency folk saying the landlord doesn't want to renew. I asked if it was about the debt, he said no and it had something to do with a solicitor handling matter now and they are looking to sell. Then another week after that (really close to renewal date) they called us in and said it was actually about the arrears. We told them we would look to cover that somehow if that was the case, they said they would get back to the landlord with that and let us know.
Since then they didn't contact us. The week of the 20th I reached out to set up a meeting with them and the landlord and they set some dates but cancelled, then they gave me a really late call on a Tuesday which I said I can't attend but would be happy to do so next morning (this was maybe 19th or something) Radio silence ever since and this last month we are basically squatting. We weren't served any legal documents or official statements that they want us to leave.
Could anyone give me advice/clarification on where we stand legally?

Driving instructors teach people how to drive cars safely.

Explain how to drive from driving school
Booking is a driving decision if you must be in this driving seat with the permission of the time. We have been driving for over 50 years.
There is no sniper, no more specific approach to mastering street guides than a certified driver training instructor. Our teachers realize how you can benefit from it. They will help you feel quiet in the driver's seat so you can finish your diagnosis with confidence.
With our cross country organization, you will no doubt have a coach nearby.
We recommend that you practice driving with a driving instructor. Our experience shows that practicing solitude before the test alone will not give you much importance in overcoming this assessment of competence and confidence.
What does a driving educator do?
Driving educators teach people how to drive safely, and train people to breathe through their driving assessments. As a driving educator, you can offer advanced teaching classes, such as a pass-plus course, for people who still have a driver's license. You'll need weird relationship skills because you'll be able to handle your customers' ratings. Most driving instructors are employed independently so you will also need a respected head of a business.
What do I need to do to become a driving educator?
Before you begin preparing to become a driving teacher, you should initially register with the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). To do this, you must be over 21 years of age and have a driving permit for more than three years, without the feeling of driving. You should similarly pass the Upgraded Disclosure and Bearing Service (DBS) check. You must complete the ADI test, which is in three stages, and you must pass each of the three to qualify:
ADI 1 - PC-based test in two parts; Assumption tests and risk identification tests
ADI 2 - Easy driving test
ADI 3 - Easy Trial of Capability
About our driving exercises
After completing the booking cycle, you will receive an email confirming your details, the name of your driving educator, and their contact data. Your driving educator will reach you within 72 hours so that you can master the appropriate date, time, and place for your driving exercise.
You will learn how to drive a double controlled vehicle. This will make you feel safe and agreeable as you begin to learn street ideas for special conditions.
The hypotheses you have to learn when you live in a car are strong in preparing for commonsense. We will graph your progress with your key driving skills card. This is a plan that encourages you to recognize your driving progress and requirements. It will hardly feel like a workout!
Driving School Street Leads to Wellness: Surveillance cameras have been introduced in our driving school vehicles. This guarantees that most of our students are drivers
Understandably Safe We focus on improving industry guidelines and delivering quality support.

2020.10.20 08:08 Throwaway-050619 Is my landlord required to respond to emails re: questions about my lease renewal? (California)

Key Details:
  1. lease end date 1-Oct
  2. current monthly payment $3,300
  3. Original term of 1 year with automatic ability to go month-to-month after term ends (1-Oct)
  4. current "market rate" for my apartment $2,700/m (advertised on their website)
  5. 15% vacancy in my complex with 7 units sitting empty that are exactly the same as my unit
I started emailing my landlord (a major rental agency, not just a mom and pop shop) in the first week of September asking about my lease renewal options since my lease was ending on October 1st. Given the large delta between my current monthly payment and the market rent if i were to start a completely new lease, I asked (in writing) for a reduction in my rent. In exchange for a reduction in rent, i offered to sign an NDA that i would not disclose this concession to any other resident and offered to sign another 1- year term vs. staying month to month when i could just leave whenever.
I got no response from the leasing company and emailed a followup in the last week of September to which i got the response that "we're working on your request". No answer to my request. I emailed again and spoke with the local property manager in the first week of October who called the "district rep". No response to my request. I've emailed 2 more times asking for followup and NOTHING; it's like they figure they will just ignore my request and i'll keep having to pay the $3,300 in my current lease.
Is there anything that says a leasing company HAS to respond to me? Should i just chalk this up to "bad business practice" and move to a different complex since they don't seem to value my tenancy? Am i within my rights to withhold payment until they respond to my request one way or another? I'm really annoyed that they've stretched this over a month with no response so i feel i have to keep paying my same rent.
Intellectually i find it to be ridiculous that i can move units in my complex and receive a $600/m discount, but i cant get the leasing company to respond to my request to stay in the same unit for reduced rent. It makes zero sense for me to literally move next door and have the company have to get my current unit "market ready". They also should know that with their current vacancy rate that my unit will likely sit empty for quite some time if i leave the complex completely. Again, this is a company managing 693,000 units worldwide, maybe they just don't care about vacancy.
Do i have any LEGAL recourse, or should i just move and "stick it to them" by having them lose my monthly payment? Part of me wants to post on social and out the awful customer service i'm getting, but i dont feel like it would do any good. Any advice?

2020.10.20 07:46 futurehofer An early look at the Seattle Expansion Draft

I’m back again with another early look at the Wild’s team outlook for the expansion draft. Since we're reportedly done in free agency and only have a couple of our own players (Belpedio and Rossi) to get under contract before we’re done for the offseason (barring another trade by Guerin), I figured this would be a good opportunity to take an updated look at how things are lining up for the expansion draft and what players will be eligible to be protected or lost come whenever the hell the expansion draft happens in 2021.
As we’ve seen over the last year, and especially the last few weeks, there’s a good chance this table will have some changes before Guerin submits his protection list next offseason. If you want to take a look at how much the roster has changed in less than 3 years, you can take a look at my previous editions of this post from August 2019 and January 2018. If there's anything here that needs clarification, please let me know.
Expansion Rules Refresher
It was previously announced that the expansion rules for this round will be identical to the rules for the Vegas draft.
Here are the current Wild players eligible for expansion in 2021 with their contract status at the time of the expansion draft:
Position Players under contract (years remaining) UFAs on expiring contracts RFA eligible players under 2021-22 team control (with contract or QO) Current AHLer who will be RFA eligible under 2021-22 team control (with contract or QO)
Forward Parise (4 years, NMC) Johansson Fiala Bitten
Zuccarello (3, NMC) Bonino Hartman Shaw
Rask (1) Foligno Eriksson Ek Sokolov
Greenway (1) Bjugstad
Sturm (1) Dumont
Rau
Cramarossa
Johnson
Defense Spurgeon (6, NMC) Pateryn N/A McCoshin
Suter (4. NMC) Hunt Menell
Brodin (7, NMC) Bartkowski Belpedio*
Dumba (2) Mermis
Soucy (2)
Goalie Talbot (2)
Stalock (1)
Kahkonen (1)
Italicized players are currently in the AHL
* - Belpedio is a current RFA who will still be RFA eligible at the time of the draft but may be under contract past the date of the expansion draft pending the terms of the contract he signs in the coming weeks. If he signs a contract for 1 year, he will remain in this column. If he signs a contract for 2 years or more, he will move into the “Players under contract” column. He could very likely also move into the regular RFA under team control column if he makes the NHL roster this season based on his play, Pateryn's health, and any possible moves Guerin makes.
Players left off the previous table are exempt from the expansion draft. These players are listed in the table below. There is no way (via games played, AHL/NHL assignment status, or whatever else you can think of) that they can move between the two tables since it is based solely on professional seasons accrued. The date listed next to the names of unsigned draft picks is the date their signing rights are set to expire and was put there just as a reference.
Expansion Draft Exempt Players
Position Under Contract Unsigned Draft Pick (signing rights expiration)
Forward Kaprizov Rossi* (6/1/2022)
Beckman Boldy (8/15/2023)
Duhaime Firstov (8/15/2023)
Chaffee Guskov** (6/1/2021)
Dewar Hentges (8/15/2022)
Giroux Khusnutdinov (Indefinitely)
Khovanov McBain (8/15/2022)
Lodnia Misley (8/15/2021)
Mayhew Nesterenko (8/15/2024)
Novak (6/1/2022)
Svetlakov (Indefinite)
Swaney (8/15/2021)
Defense Addison D. Hunt (6/1/2022)
Gordeev S. Johansson (6/1/2022)
F. Johansson (6/1/2022)
O'Rourke (6/1/2022)
Marshall (8/16/2023)
Goalie Baribeau Lindberg (8/15/2022)
Jones
Italicized players will be RFAs at the time of the draft
* - Marco Rossi will very likely be signed by the start of the season and could possibly be on the roster out of camp. It won't affect his exemption status whether he signs now and plays, signs now and goes back to the OHL/Zurich, or doesn't sign this year. The only thing his signing will change is that he'll move one column to the left on this table.
** - Matevi Guskov's signing rights will expire before the expansion draft. This means he will either be signed to an ELC and move into the left column or we will lose the rights to sign him and he will be sent back into the 2021 draft.

2020.10.20 07:05 PhysicalKale8_throw Am I wrong (28F) for wanting to break up with my boyfriend (32M) for his job choices?

This is the reason I won’t agree to marry him (if he showed me he has the ability that would be different) But I love him. What should I do?
Sorry for the novel.
TL;DR - boyfriend keeps getting stuck and depressed in dead end jobs. It’s been 5 years and he keeps getting the same job everytime. I am fed up with his newest job (same) and want to break up.

Sorry for the novel.

I dont smoke pot but have been wondering about something.
Senator Harris said that if elected VP Biden and her would decriminalize pot and expunge people's records. Do we think they would remove it from UCMJ if it was no longer a legal drug? Wouldnt they have to?

Opinion question: Honestly, which would be the smarter move? Re-uping as a 35P and getting that crazy reenlistment bonus or commissioning/going warrant? Cus you no longer qualify for the bonus and flpb once you become an officer and no longer 35P correct?

Howdy. I'm looking to join the NG for 11B. I've seen information surface lately about the 14 week OSUT program being extended to 22 weeks. What's the likelihood that I could receive the 22 week training and/or is there any way of knowing for certain?
Much appreciated!

Hello,
26 year old, recent college graduate in Philosophy and Chemistry. I speak Spanish and a little Levantine Arabic, been a successful salesman for the past few years. 90th percentile on DLAB practice test, 99th on ASVAB. Generally unfulfilled at my current job path. Eagle scout, firefighter, emt etc. means I'm looking for something more active.
Looking towards a career in the intelligence community, and have been considering enlisting as a 37F. Cumulative/Major GPA of a 2.95/3.7 makes me think I wouldn't be competitive as a direct hire into CIA/DIA, or for OCS. Looking at other pathways to get experience and find a meaningful career, plus history of military service in my immediate family has me leaning towards that.
Recruiter was reserve CA, and keeps trying to push all the "doorkicker SF" stories, but I'm genuinely interested in what AD 37F roles and responsibilities are. I already read AR PAM 600-3 and would love to know what the life of an AD 37F is these days, since I understand there's both the tactical and strategic postings.
Looked through the wiki, and past postings already. I'd appreciate any and all advice, since at the end of the day I don't even know what I don't know, and I want to avoid any misconceptions.
Regards,

So I got a huge paycheck this paycycle and I have no idea why. As an E2 I normally getting around $800 every two weeks, but it looks like they paid me $1800 this time.
I didn't sign on with any bonuses, my LAS didn't say anything about the extra money, and I'm not sure where to look to find out what's going on.
In the meantime I just set the money aside assuming Uncle Sam is going to want it back. Any advice?

PCS to Leavenworth: I received my projected assignment, which is 15th MP at Ft Leavenworth. I’m a medic. Being with 15th MP I assume I’ll be working in the prison. So my questions are: for those who have been stationed there - what is the post and surrounding area like? And for those who have worked in the prison, especially medics, what was your experience like? I’ve spent some time in Kansas and don’t hate it, but I’m not thrilled about this assignment.

For a lot of reasons, I've thought about enlisting. I'm in ROTC, but I'm not super high on the OML (about in the middle, maybe the bottom end of the top third). As such, I won't likely get the branch I want (MI). I want to work in the intel field, and that's a big part of why I want to branch MI or combat arms, but I'm very unlikely to get it. So I'm thinking about enlisting.
Between COVID turning college on its head, and the fact I suck at learning in an online environment (I do fine, but I'm not learning shit), I've thought about putting my degree on hold and enlisting as a 35-series MOS (I'd also try to either get an option 40 for a slot to RASP, or at least get airborne in the contract and hopefully get to do cool-guy support shit) - getting a TS/SCI, potentially a language/airborne/etc, and then finishing my degree would likely put me in a solid position to apply to one of the agencies after I get out, or to finish my degree and then try to commission (either OCS or return to ROTC).
Am I stupid to even consider this? I'm only 19, and can finish my degree in two years, so I could continue to make progress on it while in as well.
TLDR: Cadet probably won't get preferred branch, sucks at online school, considering putting degree on hold to enlist 35-series and then finishing my degree and applying to the agencies.

How similar are 46S (Public Affairs Specialist) and 25V (Combat Documentation Specialist) in terms of job duties and transferrable skills to the civilian sector? I'm more interested in multimedia production than writing press releases, which is why 25V is more appealing on the surface, but I want to be as flexible as possible in case one MOS isn't available but the other is. Would you consider the two to be relatively good substitutes for one another?
Also, I heard a while back that 25V is getting rolled into 46S. Does anyone know more details about that, as well as an approximate timeline? I'm guessing the army moves pretty slow, so is this something I should even be worrying about at this point?

I am wondering whether the recruiting station I visited is following the guideline regarding COVID and what I should do to protect myself.
Today was my second time visiting that office, and I noticed nobody in the office was wearing the mask, unlike my first visit where my recruiter has at least asked if I want him to wear a mask (yes) the person (he didn't introduce himself, so idk) who helped me today (because the recruiter was gone today) didn't wear one, nor asked me if I wanted him to, and I really didn't want to make a scene so I just wore mine the whole time.
And then someone else in the office was like "I've been having this fevecold stuff, and i know it's cold cold from my wife" etc. Everyone in the office yelled covid but other than one person spraying lysol all over where he was sitting after he left, no further action was done...
Is this a common practice? I don't care how socially distanced people are, I don't feel safe being indoors with people outside of my family for a prolonged period of time without masks... Also, is there anything I can do about this?
Thanks!

Im interested in just one MOS and I heard the army is the only branch that let you reserve an a specific job, the MOS I want is 68p, I know is a rare MOS to get but if my ASVAB score qualifies me Im willing to wait 6 months or more for an opening, and I know a little bit about the DEP and the future soldier program but I don't know exactly how it works. It is possible to wait that long and enter to the FSP/DEP or the recruiter will make me choose another job??

I posted this on last week's WQT, but I posted it last night so it might not have gotten around. To those recruiters out there or anyone with knowledge on this, are the jobs listed on Prior Service Business Rules a good guide on the jobs available for someone looking to come back in? In other words, should I compare only those jobs and see which one I would like, assuming it is available at the time? Or is there a chance I can be given the option of a job not listed on the Prior service business rules?

In general, for both active duty and reserve, how much time do you spend doing your actual MOS? Is it simply dependent on your particular MOS and/or unit? I imagine there are some MOS's, like 15Q Air Traffic Controller where you're almost always actually doing your job, but I can't find a great answer.

I am an idiot and probably have screwed myself. There's no way around this, bottom line I failed to disclose an incident from almost 12 years ago to my recruiter, on my paperwork and at MEPS. I'm trying to go infantry but I haven't done my interview with my career counselor or what have you yet.

In 2009 I got stopped by a cop, my brother's bong was in the car and I got the business end for it. I wasn't taken to jail, I wasn't fingerprinted, I didn't do any community service, cop had me call my parents, they came and got me, and then later I met with the DA's assistant or someone and paid some kind of fee. I barely remember and haven't thought about this in years so details are sketch. I have no excuse but this is why I didn't disclose this, I've passed a lot of background checks for bank jobs, security licenses, firearm licenses etc and this never came up so I just never got reminded of it, I have no criminal record besides this one thing which I'm not even sure is on my record.

Now I passed medical and am waiting on some other paperwork. My recruiter said I should be able to go back to Meps in a few days, but this old shit just got brought up to me when I was talking to my brother (same one). " He's basically like "what'd they say about that thing when you were a kid." And I'm like "fuuuck." Is it too late? How do I fix this? Is it even possible or am I now officially fraudulently attempting to enlist?

Yeah, I'm a moron. No way around it. I just want to make this right if at all possible.

AD ETSing (SOON™)considering reclassing into the USAR for a language-required MOS (35P / 35M). Looking for insight before I go to the reserve career counselor so I can be prepared.
1) What's the process for selecting a unit in the USAR? I've scoped out target languages of various units and know which units I would join. Do I just take all the UICs to the RCCC?
2) 35M is "language-required" but i've seen reddit posts within the last year, and literally talked to a 35M in-person yesterday, without a language. So whats the deal with that? I do not want to re-enlist without securing a spot at DLI.
3) 35M AIT. I am not a smooth talker; building rapport with people definitely isn't a strong suit. I'm confident I can learn a new language, and I'm nice at briefing, but making personal "small talk" isn't my thing. Would this be a problem to pass the course (or just exist as a 35M in general)?

As someone who is 24, been stuck at a dead-end factory job for several years, and wants to desperately get out of Michigan, I’m mostly looking for advice on if I would benefit more from going in for a 25b/17c (active) than from continuing to barely get by and try to go back to school.

Quick question
I scored really high on the Asvab, and I had a job picked out. However, I found out I was colorblind, and my job potential significantly diminished. Therefore, I was thinking of trying to enlist as a 31k Dog handler, but I’ve been told the chances of me getting this MOS are slim to none. I have a college degree, and I want to do something meaningful and purposeful that also allows me to make use of my intellect. Since I am limited to merely 10 MOS options, I have very little choice in what I can do. However, I’m asking because I know little to nothing about what military life entails, and I’d rather not join an MOS and end up despising it. The other options I was thinking of (if I can’t get military dog handler) are 13B, 13M and 13J. I’ve read that 13Ms go to Korea every 18 months, but would this even be worth it if it’s an egregious job? Also, is this true? Please let me know your guys’ experience. I greatly appreciate your opinions and time in responding to my qualms/questions.

I'm planning on joining up at the end of this year, late DecembeEarly January. I've looked though a lot of options, listened to stories and experiences from other people who are on or have finished the path I'd like to take, and I think I have a decent understanding of the route I'd like to take. Really, all I'd like is for you guys to nitpick my plan and tell me if something is unfeasible. Thank you for your time. TL;DR at the bottom
As you can tell from my username, my ultimate goal is Special Forces, 18D in particular. The first idea I had was the 18X contract, but after listening to people who have been down that road, and considering that I'm not the best already, I believe that it would be better to stay away from 18X. Instead, I'm going in as 68W. I'd be coming in with my EMT-B, which my recruiter (I know, never 100% trust recruiters) said would allow me to essentially go in as an E-4 Specialist. I'm going to try and get an Option 4 (5?) contract, which would mean I'm guaranteed Airborne. After completing BC, AIT, and hopefully AB, I'd drop a packet for RASP. A few different people who are in 68W have said that RASP is always taking medics, so that's perfect for me. Either way, I'd go through RASP, try to get attached to a scouting/forward unit (for land nav experience). I'd work with them, and possibly go to SOCM. After that, get used to working as a medic, bulk up, and drop a packet for Selection. From there, I've gotta crush selection and Q-course, as well as the additional 18D training. At which point, I'd be the highest trained type of medic in the military.
Don't misunderstand, I know that everything I've listed is incredibly hard. At any point, I could fuck up some part of my body and be SoL, or could fail something and be asked not to come back. It's not a walk in the park, it's some of the hardest training in the world. I don't care, I'm going to either crush it or get crushed.
TL;DR: Enlist as E-4 due to EMT-B cert > join as 68W > Finish AIT > Go Airborne > Go RASP > Work/bulk up > SOCM > Work > Selection > Beat it or die trying.

Regards,

Thanks!

2020.10.20 03:22 metalhusbando A letter I'd send to my mom: (tw:abuse/sexual assault mentioned)

Now I know how to treat my children when I have them, and I hope they know that years before they're born that I already love them. I hope they know that my love is unconditional, and I will always love them even if they make mistakes. I want my kid to be able to come to me with a bad test from school because they know I won't mock them for having a hard time in school. Turns out children are supposed to trust their parents. Shocking isn't it? I apologize if I'm being mean to you, mom, I know it was even harder on you to tell me I was a failure and deserved being beaten as a child. You might not have actually beaten me, mom, but you were complicit. You're just as much of a problem in this situation as dad is, but this is your letter.
My therapist asked me how I managed to survive all those years as a child. Do you know I'm starting to get my memories back from the ages of 3-15? On one hand, a question like that is the most embarrassing thing I've ever been asked (second to my dad asking me if I was misremembering my own sexual assault, but again this is your letter, I'll address that another time). I can honestly say I'm not sure how I made it all those years, but I do know part of it was spite. I made myself as a child remember everything I could about the way you both treated me because I knew as a little girl I wasn't gonna treat my kids the way you both treated me. Especially you, mom. One of the only good things about my hypervigilance was the amount of research I'm putting into what car to buy and what agencies to contact when I go no/low contact with you.
There's not going to be any tearful goodbye from you, mom. That's because you aren't going to know where I'm going. Right now I'm going to focus on school and therapy, and when I'm done with college I'm leaving for good. You might see me for holidays, maybe not. I can definitely say I'm not interested in the same level of relationship you have with my sisters. I don't want to text you every day to tell you how my day was. I don't want you to tell me how your day is going because I don't care.
You already met my boyfriend, mom. But do you know he and I decided we're ready to be done dating? We're not gonna get married immediately but it's something we've talked about before. He doesn't know it yet, but he's part of the reason I went to therapy to process my memories. I can't let someone I love deal with my bad days on his own. I don't want him to and I'm not going to let it happen. I realized one day at work I was tired of letting the horrific things you did to me rule my life, and I don't want these things to come back and hurt my children when I have them. They don't deserve it and I'm not going to repeat the cycle.
I'm sick of being my own mom, mom. You weren't there for me, so that means I get to pick out who I want as family. I realized I wanted to be a permanent fixture in my boyfriend's family and my childhood is currently in the way. Not that little me is a burden, she never was. It's not my problem you treated me like a burden when I was a little girl, and it will never be my problem. Therapy is going good right now, I have my second session in a few days. I'm making a tiny bit of progress, I haven't crawled up my boyfriend's ass to ask him where he is because his phone died. You know why that is mom, I trust him. Way more than you. There's days that I think he hates me, but my therapist has explained to me that my abandonment issues are part of a trauma response. My body aches when I remember something, but I know one day it'll stop.
You're not my mom, you just gave birth to me. I'm going to be a better wife, a better mom and a better nurse when the time comes. My future patients deserve to know that I trust science instead of idiots you heard on the radio telling his audience that they should stop taking their meds, because that's the way god made them. My kids and my husband are going to know I love them, and that I'll always treat them with respect. They won't have to live with the fear that I'll have a bad day and be in a bitter mood and take it out on them. They're going to know I love them, and I'm going to make fucking sure they know. The buck stops with me mom, so I don't mean it lightly when I say:
Fuck you.

2020.10.20 02:14 NamNguyen56 New information about US elections

New information about US elections

New information about US elections While President Trump rushed to win votes, the Democratic candidate Biden was cautious. Currently, Mr. Trump increases campaigning in states he is weak. Meanwhile, Mr. Biden slowed down, calmly maintained his current form waiting for the vote date. Current President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden are launching a series of different tactics to try to win voters at the last minute. The tension is taking place in the fluctuating states - states where the two sides run for nearly equal support. While Mr. Trump accelerated his campaigning in several states in just a few days to make up for the time lost due to COVID-19 infection, Mr. Biden was somewhat more cautious to preserve the advantages gained. Mr. Trump accelerated the pace According to Politico news agency, President Trump is urgently moving around the key states where candidate Biden is ahead to save the situation. As of October 15, Mr. Trump has been present in at least three states and is expected to continue to stop in Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina this week. Trump's campaign spokesperson, Tim Murtaugh, said the White House owner will try to campaign every day before the final face-to-face debate session on Oct. 22 in Tennessee. In addition, Mr. Trump also increased the application of the tactics that won him election in 2016 - taking advantage of the media noise to polish his name and take down his opponent. For example, speaking at a campaign in Michigan on October 17, the White House owner criticized Democrats for their intention to "erase American history, purge American values and destroy people's lifestyles. American people ", at the same time accusing Mr. Biden as a candidate full of corruption and" a threat to national security ". Before that, Mr. Trump also made similar statements when campaigning in North Carolina on October 15. Specifically, the leader accused Mr. Biden when he was vice president of contributing to increasing unemployment rate in the country and failing to protect US border security. Mr. Trump also confidently declared: "This is a ridiculous election. How can I lose to someone like him! ”. 📷📷 President Donald Trump (right) and Democratic candidate Joe Biden (left) enter a sprint period as the US presidential election approaches. Artwork: AFP Politico believes that behind the vibrant campaigns is essentially the growing fear of failure of Mr. Trump. This worry forced him to constantly find ways to defame his opponent to honor himself. The words Mr. Trump used was also more offensive than two or three months ago, when he was mostly sarcastic about Biden's age. The consequence of the aforementioned tactics is that Mr. Trump's campaign is constantly being checked on the authenticity of his statements by major social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and even removed some of the posts on his personal page. he believes that it contains false information. Fox News, Trump's favorite TV channel, also began cutting the airtime of his campaign. 25.83 million US voters now vote early instead of waiting until November 3 due to concerns about the situation of COVID-19 in the country, Reuters reported on data released over the weekend by the US Election Project. . Biden applies a strategy of buying time In contrast to President Trump's fierce, Biden candidate has a very cautious attitude to maintain the advantages of support rate and image in public. "Mr. Biden doesn't want to break anything in the last three weeks," said Democrat strategist Maria Cardon, in an interview with NPR. If an election was held today, he would have won. His team knows that, too, and more importantly, Mr. Trump does. Therefore, Mr. Biden does not need to do much but just keep up the current form and finish the race ". Mr. Biden has run more direct campaigns in recent weeks than he did last month - when he often campaigned online due to fears that COVID-19 would spread. Most of his campaigns were very brief, mainly aimed at increasing his presence and making a commitment that he would not abandon the interests of those states. His contingent also limits the size of events to a short speech a day and avoids long interviews or tough questions, limiting Mr. Biden's chances of making a false statement. Mr. Chris Lehane, who worked for the 2016 Democratic presidential campaign - Hillary Clinton, commented: “It can be said that Joe Biden's election team is really buying time, trying to find a way try all loopholes to avoid being exploited and exploited by Mr. Trump's side ”. At the same point, expert Eddie Vale, of the research organization New Paradigm Strategy (USA), said that this is a wise move of Mr. Biden because the more cautious, the less problems he has, no need to worry. hesitate to account. According to Mr. Vale, "in the face of Mr. Trump's criticism, the best way is to keep quiet because the more justified, the more confused things, especially in the eyes of voters". Trump - Biden confrontation seen from the data According to The New York Times aggregated data, President Donald Trump is facing a bleaker October more than any other presidential candidate in the last four elections and his chances of winning appear to be. getting farther and farther. On average, Mr. Biden leads Trump by 10% in most polls across the United States. In battle states, President Trump also did not do better when he was 4% less than Mr. Biden in Florida, 5% in Arizona, 8% in Pennsylvania and 9% in Wisconsin, according to statistics until October 19. Vietnam). Most analysts say Mr. Biden does not even need to win in all four states because he has so far conquered nearly all the states Hillary Clinton has won, plus some states Mr Trump has won. in the 2016 elections as Wisconsin and Arizona. Also note that in the past four elections, no candidate led their opponent by 10 percentage points just a month before the official election day. For example, in the 2008 election, Mr. Barack Obama, despite the overwhelming victory when he surpassed his rival John McCain by nearly 10 million popular votes, the polls in the month before the polling date showed the rate of support. Mr. Obama's household only leads his opponent as high as 8.2%. Of course, public opinion polls can still be misleading that many experts cannot predict, but overall almost every sign points to a pretty sure victory for Mr. Biden. 📷 Like Comment Share

2020.10.20 00:52 deep_blue84 Do I Really Need A Marketing Degree? Are Multiple Specialized Marketing Certificates Better? I need advice on what opens more doors and what would get me a bigger salary.

Hi everyone, I was laid off from my job right before COVID hit and I've been having a hard time finding work. I'm 36, Male, located in Canada and we have been given emergency relief luckily during this pandemic.
I currently have a Graphic Design Diploma (with Honors). I was thrown into the world of marketing because my place of employment at the time (Rogers) decided to go with an agency for all our design needs. I was given the choice of taking on marketing or be laid off, so I decided to take on the challenge of learning marketing. 6 years later, I've learned to love marketing and I've moved up the ladder and was a Marketing - Brand & Advertising Specialist before being let go due to company restructuring.
Here is my problem now... I'm applying to work and people aren't looking at my resume because I only have a graphic design diploma despite my 6 years working in the marketing field! My girlfriend suggested that I go to university for a degree in marketing. Money is obviously tight due to the pandemic and me not having full time work so I want to avoid tuition fees if possible. I spoke to some professional recruiters to see if they can offer insight and they have told me get certificates to make up for my lack of education in marketing. I now currently have a Social Media Certification from Hubspot Academy, A Google Ads Display Certification, and am just finishing up my Digital Marketing Certification from Google.
Employers seem to be noticing me more with my certifications as I have now landed a job interview this week! My girlfriend still thinks a degree is better long term, so I wanted to ask Reddit to help me out here...

Would it be better for me to get a degree in marketing? Or stick to getting up-to-date certifications from reputable organizations like Google and Hubspot Academy every year?

Like the title says, I do want to make more money and provide for my future family in the long term. I personally find that with certifications, I can focus in on the aspects of marketing that I do want to learn and be certified in as opposed to a blanket marketing degree that will put me through stuff like accounting or business math...etc that I am terrible at and have no interest in learning.
Thank you so much for your help Reddit!
